Nuno Felted Skinny Scarf
This Nuno Felted Skinny Scarf is a one of a kind art piece and is wet felted using blended Merino wool and a colourful selection of hand dyed silks. A handmade and exquisitely detailed piece. It is elegant, lightweight and a great statement piece.
This method of felting uses soap, warm water and agitation to tangle fibres together to create felt. Nuno felting is the process of felting wool roving and / or wool yarns onto another fabric. This scarf is made with a selection of beautiful hand dyed silks, it has lovely detail in colourful shades of red, there are undulating edges and texture characteristic of artisan felted work.
Focusing on traditional feltmaking techniques, my work combines art with a love for making wearable useable items, working with fibre I find transforming a sheep’s fleece into fabric endlessly fascinating.
Defined by strong colour combinations and colour blends using hand dyed wool and silks to add fine detail, my work is characteristic of artisan felted work.
Felt is surprisingly strong and no two pieces will ever be the same, inspiration for this scarf is defined by a colourful combination of shades of red in an abstract / floral style design. This scarf has a beautiful drape with soft hand dyed silk on both sides with a fine layer of wool running through the middle for comfort and warmth.

Handmade pure wool. Care instructions: Hand washing is recommended, ideally wipe with a damp cloth and layout flat to dry naturally.
